I played the original Civilization game when I was about 12, and have played every one since. You start as a stone age society and end up in space. It’s amazing. On the way you’ll manage economy, military, diplomacy, culture, technology and more. There are a range of ways to play Civ VI and they’re fun to discover over many playthroughs.

Difficulty: There are a range of difficulty settings. Start easy and you’ll be fine.
Content: I mean, there’s nuclear war. That’s pretty scary. Encourage your child to subdue every other civilization before the atomic age.
Age-related suggestions: Officially rated 10+. This is a complex game but a 10 year old would probably enjoy it.
